A pirate, a fairy, no dog...go Utes!

Billy had Halloween off, so we took the kids to Little Haunts, one of my favorite Halloween activities. And that night, well, it's a good thing our kids won't remember because that night, (you know Halloween night where you typically go trick or treating) we dropped them off at grandma Wattsies and we were off to cheer on the Utes. Don't feel too bad for our kids though. Their grandma spoiled them rotten with lots of goodies and candies. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of my little Holland as a puppy. Is he the third child?

P.S. Thanks grandma Holly for the oh so cute costumes!

Baby "Hoddah"

I haven't posted enough pictures of my little Holland. He is six months old, happy for one hour of the day...sad the other 23, has the cutest smile and big blue eyes and a great big noggin, doesn't sleep at night, and I just love the little thing.

My brave Mr. Holland

My little Holland had his hypospadias repair surgery today at Primary's. We got there bright and early and considering this kid likes to eat on the hour, he did great without food for a while. I thought he looked pretty darn cute in his little hospital jammies. Everything went great! I love his pediatric urologist and wanted to give him a big kiss on the cheek when he said everything went well (don't worry...I didn't). I didn't expect to be so nervous. As the nurse was explaining things to me, I literally had to sit down because my legs felt like jello...and this is such a small little surgery. Now, I get 2 days of just snuggling him and enjoying the effects of Lortab as he just lays his little head on my shoulder. When I change his diaper, I want to cry, and did the first time. It looks so incredibly sore, but as Billy said, "his wife will thank you one day!" So glad it went well, and so glad it's over.

Yee Haw, Hee Haws

Thanks to my friend Amy, and her fabulous camera, I get to blog. She took me and the kids to Hee Haws (love the name by the way), and it was awesome. It's a working farm that they have turned into this "playland" for the kids, complete with a hayride, a tractor ride, swings, a gunny sack slide, the biggest fattest pig ever, a corn box (that's right...a corn box), and lots of dirt. It was so much fun.

A Girl Named Zippy...

That's the title of the book I'm reading that is literally causing me to laugh out loud at every single page.

Life is beautiful

Lately the lives of different people have been running through my thoughts. I'm taken back at the intense challenges people face. I have recently known people who have lost babies, have gone through and are now going through cancer, or have lost a spouse and are raising children on their own. As I think about them and the incredible emotions they must be going through, I ache for them. It's amazing you can hurt so much for other people. And what is even more amazing, is that each of these people still have peace and hope. And it is because they have turned to the one person who knows how to comfort them best because He knows the exact hurt they feel. And not ironically and most amazing of all, is that in turn, they become more and more like Him. It is quite beautiful. I have been left thinking what my challenges in life will be. And more importantly left hoping that I too can have the same hope, and cling to the same source, so that I too can have the same depth of strength within me.

A little update

I have been a pretty pathetic blogger lately, but it's not my fault...really it's not. It's my computers fault for refusing to upload pictures. And you know, when your writing lacks any clever wittiness, then you need pictures to make up for it. But I thought I would give you a little update as to what the Watts' are up to.

In June we moved into a house (just renting) and we are so excited. It is the perfect house for us. A big basement for our many toys, a big backyard to play in, and probably the best part is that Billy is still able to walk to the hospital, and the kids and I are able to walk to the zoo. We are pretty grateful for the extra space.

In July Billy started his intern year. It has been very busy and we don't see him a whole lot. 6 weeks in a row with no daddy at church, made for some pretty scary sacrament meetings. But he's back for a while and we are so glad. He loves the field he chose and tells me often how happy he is doing psychiatry.

Charlie just started pre-school and he loves it. He still throws some pretty intense tantrums, but they are getting a little less frequent. He is probably the funniest kid I have ever met and isn't lacking in the personality department. Maggie is getting big, almost 2, and she says everything. She is sure a sweet little thing. And my Holland. He is getting big and chunky, just like I like them. He has been a pretty fussy baby, but I think we are getting a little better, I think. But his little rolls are delicious and I just can't get enough of him. Life with 3 in just 3 1/2 years has been a little more crazy than I had expected, but we are doing well. Hopefully there will be pictures soon to come!
